Securing your tablet from iWaiter to POS
Everyone who has been to the Bijenkorf, a famous Dutch department store, has undoubtedly seen them: the tablets used by staff to see whether products are still in stock or should be ordered online. The Bijenkorf has been working with tablets since 2012 and introduced ‘tablet assisted sales’ in 2014 in all of its branches.
Another type of assisted sales sees customers using a tablet to order in a restaurant. The American restaurant chain Applebee’s provides ‘table tablets’ for its customers so they can digitally order their side of fries or that nice steak. Biggest advantage of this iWaiter? You never have to wait for checkout.
Tablet theft? Gorilla Grip says no
Whereas Applebee’s is not that worried about tablet theft (‘the tablets are pretty much useless outside of the restaurant’), other stores that provide tablet assisted sales or a tablet point of sale (POS) are genuinely concerned about the theft of their popular little helpers. Gripzo’s Gorilla Grip offers a great solution. Gripzo developed a new tablet enclosure that can easily be locked and unlocked with a key in seconds.
